On a beautiful Saturday morning in April this year we welcomed baby Luca at his own home in Macroom.
Little Luca is my 500th Irish home birth baby :)
500 babies......
500 babies in 28 years, not including my own home births :)
500 babies born in a changing Ireland
500 babies birthed by women who took responsibility for their own pregnancies and births
500 babies birthed by women who didn't think hospital was for them
500 babies birthed by women with enormous courage, going against the trend
Thanks to EVERYBODY who supported these women, their families and me on the journey.
As a small token of my appreciation I presented Luca's mum with a Haakaa pump and flower stopper :)
As you can see....he was super excited ;)
